Armed Forces Week Camp in Blackpool

We will be holding our usual Armed Forces Week Camp in Blackpool over the period Wednesday 27th June 2018 to Monday 2nd July 2018 at Highbank Farm, Hardhorn, FY6 8DN

Blackpool hold events throughout this week, e.g. a Veterans Carvery at Coral Islands and a Armed Forces Dinner at Norbreck Castle Hotel on Friday Evening.

FI36 North West (Carlisle) Saturday 9th June 2018

 

A reunion in Carlisle for all military and ex-military, merchant navy, Falkland Islanders, spouses and partners who were involved in the Falklands war.

Talk by Falklands Veteran Stan Darbyshire

Stan served with 11 Field Sqn Royal Engineers during the Falklands War. He landed at Port San Carlos and after digging in helped to improve the airstrip and fuel supplies. He was sent to Ajax Bay to run the water point for Commando Logistic Regiment. On return to the Squadron at Port San Carlos they moved into Stanley and worked on the airfield repairs and further harrier support. The troops also carried out stevedore works unloading the MV Strathewe. Stan was one of 2 sappers working shifts responsible for loading engineers plant and stores onto mexe floats as it came off the ship.
 

During our FI 36 Northwest reunion, Stan will be delivering a photo PowerPoint presentation about the role of 11 Field Sqn Royal Engineers during the Falklands War showing the tasks carried out using soldiers own pictures and some stock internet photos for information.

*Raffle. All proceeds from our reunion raffle will go to SAMA82 and Falklands Veterans Foundation for Liberty Lodge.

Spring Camp - 24th - 29th May, Dorset

The Caravan and Camping Branch are holding a Spring Camp in 2018 over the Late May Bank Holiday.

It will be held between Thursday 24th May to Tuesday 29th May at the Red Lion in Winfrith Newbergh, Dorset DT2 8LE Further Details available from http://winfrithredlion.co.uk/

Electric Hook Up is available and if you are not of a Camping or Caravan Persuasion the Hotel has some rooms available

We will be holding a Fund Raiser on Saturday Night and Sunday Afternoon there is a Music Festival with 4 or 5 local bands

Camping fees will be £10 per night

Seventh Hospital Ship Uganda Reunion

Plans are now underway for the  seventh Hospital Ship Uganda Reunion on Sunday 20th May 2018.  A one day "lunchtime" event will be held within the former Royal Naval Hospital Haslar (heritage) site in Gosport.

3 day mini cruise - SS Aurora (Uganda veterans/supporters only)

16th - 19th May 2018

 

A 3 day mini cruise on board SS Aurora has been arranged.  The dates are 16th - 19th May 2018.  The cruise is for Hospital Ship Uganda veterans and supporters and will be held in the on board Uganda suite.
