Do you hold the South Atlantic Medal 1982?
The Falkland Islands Government has approved a plan for a 50 strong Pilgrimage to the Islands in November 2012 to mark the 30th Anniversary of the Falklands Conflict. This one week Pilgrimage, which is hoped will coincide with Remembrance Sunday 2012, will primarily be for Veterans who have not returned to the Falkland Islands since 1982 and next-of-kin of those killed in action.
High volumes of applications are expected; so submitting an Application Form does not guarantee a place on the Pilgrimage. Applications will close on 31st December 2011, and successful applicants will be informed before 31st January 2012.
The Falkland Islanders will generously give accommodation and transport on the Falkland Islands. It is hoped that the majority of funding will be found but individuals must be prepared to meet part of the cost should full funding not be forthcoming. However, arrangements will be made to assist successful applicants who are unable to contribute.
APPLICATIONS ARE NOW CLOSED AND SELECTION HAS TAKEN PLACE.
ALL THOSE WHO APPLIED SHOULD RECEIVE A LETTER IN THE POST SHORTLY.
